OCTOBER ’19 LAS VEGAS SOUVENIR & RESORT GIFT SHOW RECORDS ATTENDANCE INCREASE, WRAPS-UP TO REVEAL RAVE REVIEWS
Lone Rock Captures Best Booth Award, Del Sol Wins Best New Product
LAS VEGAS (October 8, 2019) - With more than 1300 booths and an assortment of both unique and well-known brands in attendance exhibiting gifts, souvenirs and exclusive products, the results and feedback are in – and they’re overwhelmingly positive. Tracking ahead of the 2018 edition, the October 2-5, 2019 Las Vegas Souvenir and Resort Gift Show attracted retailers from throughout the US, Canada, the Caribbean, Mexico and other countries to the Las Vegas Convention Center. Building a growing presence and established reputation in the world of gifts and souvenirs, the show continues to grow and mature with each year that passes.
The show welcomed a number of new and enhanced features for 2019. “We are laser-focused on the ROI this show delivers to both our buyers and exhibitors alike – whether it’s travel and exhibition costs or valuable time away from their businesses,” says Lisa Glosson, Vice President of the Gift and Souvenir portfolio for Clarion UX, the show’s organizer. “From our new and growing MATCH appointment-setting program and expanded Native American Pavilion to a record number of new exhibitors and show floor enhancements, we gave all stakeholders even more ways to discover new resources, network and build those all-important relationships.”
Speaking of new, the show welcomed 256 first-time exhibitors looking to grow their market share. Headlining the list, Del Sol captured the show’s “Best New Product” award for its brand of color-changing apparel and accessories.
For one new exhibitor, David McCord of Hawaii based Maui Vera, the results were groundbreaking. “For my first experience exhibiting, it is exposing me to some big name brands that I didn’t expect to have the opportunity to meet or work with. I’m excited for next year’s chance to grow and expand with new companies.” His company, which offers a healing ointment to alleviate the harsh symptoms from excessive sun exposure, received a lot more big name exposure than he had anticipated.
Another first-time exhibitor and owner of Puffin Coolers, Christina Linton, had a positive experience, adding, “A lot more flow of people than I was expecting. The vendors have been super organized.”
Buyers were also sharing in the buzz and optimism of the show as well. Al Shameklis, President and Chief Operating Officer for COLOR, INC, discussed the reputation of the show for his company, “This is our most important show of the year.”
With all of the positive feedback being received from both buyers and exhibitors, April Holinek, the Show Director was pleased with the results and mentioned, “The team worked hard to bring together a strong mix of new and established brands, to give retailers a true one-stop resource for all things souvenir. We have a great group who will stop at nothing to make sure the show is one-of-a-kind, and this year they did not disappoint.”
There was also a great deal of excitement surrounding Clarion UX’s newly created VIP Buyer appointment-setting MATCH! Program. Now in its second year, MATCH! continues to receive favorable feedback as a time-saving way to discover new business partnerships. The October MATCH! Program generated 500+ total meetings between qualified buyers and vendors. MATCH provided participants with pre-scheduled, guaranteed meeting opportunities with new customers, based on mutual categorical interests – further allowing both parties the chance to meet with customers that they may not have met on their own time at the show.
“80 percent of our MATCH buyers that we paired with placed orders. It was awesome! We will absolutely be doing it again next year!” was the sentiment shared by Marc Pendergraft of Arizona-based, Trending Tumblers.
The MATCH exhibitors weren’t the only ones sharing in the excitement. Tommy Brown of the Saint Louis Zoo was equally as enthusiastic. “I found the MATCH program to be extremely helpful for finding new vendors we would never have met had we not attended. I would consider the MATCH PROGRAM to be very successful for our zoo.”
